Inventium Systems is working on a wide range of guerilla-scale projects. Each of these small projects investigate a range of technical and marketing problems typically faced by small-scale entrepreneurs and startups.
Stirfry Startups
Stirfry Startups is a joint project with Walter Yu focusing on very early stage fundamentals of business building and entreprenuership, focused on web-based models. We chose WordPress as simple, inexpensive technology for standardizing our technical platform across the Stirfry group, which provided instant synergy among members working in different subject areas to collaborate effectively on common technical problems. WordPress is the same kind of enabling technology as Quickbooks: doesn’t really matter what your business is, when you’re just starting out, Quickbooks provides provides an inexpensive common platform for handling financial chores common to all businesses.
We have a Google Group with 16 members total, and 4 very active core members in collaboration.
In addition, we schedule monthly weekend-intensive workshops that start on Friday evening and finish late Sunday afternoon. Typically, the workshop focuses on one deep topic, such as generating our core content for web sites, and several broad topics. Some examples of broad topic work are:
- Installing and configuring WordPress plugins such as contact forms.
- Hooking up Twitter to communicate to and from Facebook across multiple web properties.
Work on core, or “pillar” content builds out individual web properties with informative and valuable posts and pages.
Collaboration Chronicles
Inventium Systems is a part owner of Collab21 LLC, a small, independent collaborative development company based in San Francisco. Collaboration Chronicles records various collaborative and individual activities of Collab21 members.
Website In A Weekend
Website In A Weekend is a set of tutorial pages taking a customer from having no website at all, to a fully functioning, Wordpress-driven website immediately ready for their small business.
